a while ago i got a pt on DRK with some dude named Zidenell, ever since then hes been pritty obsessed with my DRK.. its nice cause he invites me to pts all the time now! its a nice change.. i still always die at least once in every pt somehow tho. but hearing "[Incredibly tough][Dark Knight]" is much nicer then "[Dark Knight] very bad ^^" that i got in a JP pt a while ago.. silly pt >:/ i was /war, then after a while they told me to go back and change to /thf, so i did then they kept telling me to SATA, but we were fighting imps and i was amnisiaed half the time and the other half of the time none of the ppl in the pt would line up so i could SATA them. but theres always gotta be ppl like that to keep drks emo i suppose. almost 75 now and i cant wait to start meriting! soo much stuff i wanna get!
speaking of FFXI related stuff. i got FFAssist the other day and i gotta say im pritty disapointed with it. mapmon stopped working in the december update and the dude who made it quit so it didnt look like it was getting fixed anytime soon, so i desided to get FFAssist instead since it has a map plugin. and well.. it does, but its not nearly as nice as MapMon's.. the position marker is off a bit so instead of showing where you are it shows you down and to the right a bit and it messes me up all the time.. and the marker itself is pritty funny looking too. in MapMon the marker was just a little red circle with an arrow, ffassist's is a bigger circle with a line through it.. not that bad, but still it looks funny.
also, when i was first looking into getting ffassist, from what i heard about it, it was this AMASING program that did so much cool stuff! again, im disapointed... its not all that great.. sure it has recast timers, airship times, shop times, and a buncha other wierd plugins that i havent instaled, but alot of them i really dont see a use for.. recast is nice, but i go in the menu to recast stuff anyways and i can see it just as well while ive got my mouse on it trying to click it when its not up, and most of my macros already have /recast whatever in them too, so im not sure if ill keep using that one or not.
the airship times and stuff is nice, but to get to it you need to alt-tab out of FFXI and go to the FFAssist then ctrl-f5(which i always get confused with ctrl-f4, which toggles map zooming instead) it would probly be less anoying if i made a windower macro to load the plugin from FFXI instead of having to alt-tap out every time.. i might do that, if there is an option for a command line request for the thingie at all.. we'll see.
another anoying thing is that all the plugins are built right into FFXI, not in their own windows that you can move around, which is anoying cause then you have a transparent-black box on part of your ffxi window. it is movable, but it has to be somewhere inside the ffxi window or else you just cant see it! and to move it you need to edit the x-pos, y-pos in the .ini file.
originaly the map was in the bottom right corner, taking up the space wherre my current target was showed, but fortunatly i found another plugin that lets me put it inro a separate window that can be put outside the FFXI window.. but thats still anoying cause then to have FFXI running i need to have 3 differnet windows open in the taskbar! idk why but having alot of windows open at a time really bugs me. too much junk to alt-tab through when im working on stuff! it would be so much nicer if they could just minimize to the.. uh.. whatever you call the bottom right thingie with all the little icons for stuff like the sound manager or whatever programs run in the background.
one nice thing is that it has an expcalculator that works better then ExpWatch. i still love expwatch for almost everything because it has alot more features, but ExpCalc actualy works with limit points, whereas expwatch doesnt. expcalc is also kinda cool cause it shows what chain# youre on and how much time you have left to finish the chain.. interesting but i really dont care that much.
in conclusion, it is a nice program and id be intersted to try out all the other plugins i can find for it, but for the trouble it is to get(you try getting a program that nobody is alowed to post a direct link to, or password for, thats only obtainable from a japanese download site, which you need the password thats hidden somewhere in hundreds of posts on a JP forum, and when you DO get that far you have a 1/3 chance of actualy getting the download page which is also in JP so you just need to guess which link is for the DL, then when you finaly get it you need to go back and do it all over to get the HotFix for the december update to make it work... and you better hope you can figure out how to make the program run in english rather then jp! ok so im probly making it sound harder then it actualy is, but gez that was the most anoying program ive had to get yet.), i dont really think it lives up to the awsomeness it was said to be. ok, enough about programs nobody cares about.
i tried balista the other day for my first time! it was pritty fun! got killed lots, and i got to souleater+hundred fists jem(for future reference you'll die, but it sure is fun!) i never got to fight eld in a vs battle tho.. :/ i think he would have won tho. gekko hurts!
theres so much other stuff in FFXI that id really like to try but never seem to get around to it.. like Garison. that looks pritty crasy.. lotsa cool stuff from it tho! id also like to fight bahamut and finish the last of the cop/zilart missions. i wonder how hard that would be to plan? harder then DM? hmm. someday. but i have no clue how to do anything for it so probly no time soon. next time i feel like planning something i think ill try to finish ToAU missions, im pritty behind on them.. but im frustrated with them. another rant anyone? eh why not.
so a while ago, eira was apparently planning toau missions but for some reason *cough* it wasnt getting anywhere fast. so zoe asked me if i could plan it. so then eira logs on later, and i ask her who she has planned to do it, she says zoe her leis and i dont think she had anyone else... i dont remember. so i asked if me and glyph could go. (for anyone who doesnt know, glyph and i have done everything together from dunes onward, so theres no way i was gunna do something without him..) she says sure! so im like, yay! when could we do this? we plan a time, things look great. yay for more fun missions... unfortunatly for me, i assumed tli would want to do the missions too. and unfortunatly again.. he didnt. this was during a time that he was working nights and weekends were the only time he had off, so he didnt want to have his whole weekend planned with stuff for him before he even knew about it(something i seem to have a bad habit of doing for him) so, sucks to be me, i tried to get replacements for myself and tli and i have no idea what happened after that, but they finished them (or as far as the missions were released at that time). so ever since then ive had a very /sulk-ish atitude towards toau missions. kinda disapointed i dont get to do them with glyph, but it doesnt look like ill even get to do the new ones with him, the other day he sent me a msg saying he wouldnt be able to play anymore cause hes just too busy, but hes not deactivating his acct or anything.. ima feel bad doing stuff without him whenever/ifever i get around to planning more stuff.
speaking of glyph, i need to get a replacement for assault.. or maybe i should start with even doing assault again, i kinda stopped over the christmas holidays cause ppl were too busy and i was too busy and nobody wanted to take over for me, wonder if anybody got new assualt statics yet? i dont see eira leis or zoe doing that but i think thed might if he actualy wanted to. he didnt seem overly conserned tho when i said we were taking a break.
oookaay well this post ended up aLOT longer then i thought it would, so i suppose i should end it here before i ramble about much more! id be suprized if you guys actuly read this whole thing to the end, i dont see it being all that interesting.
